Artistically Inked Birthday Card + Simply Marbleous DSP + Paper Saving Tip

Ok, I've been on a birthday card kick this week, using the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I can't help it.  I just love the DSP, and it's only available to earn FREE through the end of February during the Sale-A-Bration promotion.

So, here's one more birthday card.

Artistically Inked + Simply Marbleous DSP

For this card, I used a little paper saving trick to save some of the DSP for another project.  Here are the steps to recreate this card...

Artistically Inked Die cut the leaf image using the Artistic Dies from Just Jade Cardstock.

Artistically Inked  Using the Artistically Created Stamp Set, stamp the flower using Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight inks on a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Basic White layer.  Stamp a second flower on another piece of Basic White and cut out using the coordinating die.  Cut the leaf image in half, and adhere as shown.

Simply Marbleous DSP  Simply Marbleous DSP  Paper Saving Tip - Using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, cut a large rectangle from the center of the DSP (which is cut to 4" x 5 1/4").  Save this cutout for another project.

Artistically Inked + Simply Marbleous DSP Adhere the second flower to the Basic White panel with Dimensionals.  Then, adhere the Basic White panel to the DSP panel, covering up the hole left from the previous step.  No one will ever know you cut it out!

Artistically Inked + Simply Marbleous DSP  Stamp the greeting on Basic White and punch one end using the Banners Pick A Punch.  Sprinkle a few 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to finish it off.

Hope you've enjoyed all the Simply Marbleous samples I've been sharing.

Stitched Stars + Simply Marbleous DSP Birthday Card

Here's a project idea, maybe a little more masculine, using the Stitched Stars Dies paired with the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Stitched Stars + Simply Marbleous

Using the reverse image from the die cut (leftover from the precious project where I used a die cut star), I created a star frame by adhering the DSP to the backside of the reverse image, and then trimmed it down with my snips, leaving about a 1/4" of the white showing on the front side.

Coordinating strips of Cinnamon Cider and DSP at the top and bottom anchor the design with the greeting.  A sprinkle of coordinating Cinnamon Cider In Color gems finishes it off.

Here's a list of products used:
  • Stamps - Artistically Inked
  • Ink - Bunblebee
  • Paper
    • Bumblebee Cardstock
    • Cinnamon Cider Cardstock
    • Basic White Cardstock
    • Simply Marbleous DSP
  • Dies - Stitched Stars
  • Paper Snips
  • 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems

Birthday Card using Rainbow Glimmer Paper + Simply Marbleous DSP

I simply LOVE the Rainbow Glimmer Paper(153056).  It's such an easy way to add a little elegance to your projects.  You can choose which colored portion of the paper you want to use, or use a strip that shows off all of them.

Here, I've used the Stitched Stars Dies (150653) to cut the swirly star image from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper for this Birthday Card.  The "leftovers" from when I cut the image with the die, are saved and incorporated in the design -- the sprinkling of stars and swirls.

Strips of the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper make a colorful backdrop for the design.

Keeping the Cardstock color neutral allows the Glimmer Paper and DSP to shine.

Pulling a bit of this design to the inside of the card, again using up those pieces from the die cut, adds the finishing touch.

My Version

I loved the look of this set of cards so much, I decided to create my own version.  I used the 154542 - Artistically Inked Stamp Set and coordinating 155371 - Artistic Dies.

I made one card for each coordinating color in the DSP.  For reference, the coordinating colors are listed on the DSP paper packaging which makes it super easy to coordinate products -- no guessing required!

I used the 151297 - Label Me Fancy Punch to get a curved shape for the edges of the greeting banner by inserting the end of the cardstock strip through the back of the punch so that just one edge was being punched and centering it before punching.  Then I turned the strip around and inserted the other end to punch it as well.

For ribbon, I used the 156485 - Black & White Gingham ribbon, and opted to not tie a bow.  To finish off the embellishments, a sprinkling of 154284 - Matte Black Dots does the trick.

I love how this matching set of cards turned out!

Copying Another Design using the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper

Check out this cute card using the Awesome Otters Stamp Set and the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper (DSP).  It's so playful and the DSP really reminds me of flowing water.

The look of water you get from this sheet of Designer Series Paper got me thinking about other possibilities.  So, I pulled out the Sailing Home Stamp Set and coordinating dies and got to work creating this version of the card.

Simply Marbleous DSP + Sailing Home Stamp Set

I substituted the 149457 - Sailing Home Stamp Set for the Awesome Otters Stamp Set, and used the coordinating 149576 - Smooth Sailing Dies instead of the Garden Dies.

I also substituted 146988 - Soft Sea Foam Cardstock for the Granny Apple Green Cardstock.

The sail boats were stamped using Basic Gray instead of the Tuxedo Black.

And, instead of using Blends, I used the Basic Gray watercolor pencil from the 141709 - Watercolor Pencils set to color in the boat.  I also added 141897 - Wink of Stella on the sails to give them a nice shimmer.

Valentine's Day Card

Always in my Heart Stamp Set + Floral Heart Dies

It's almost Valentine's Day!  Here a really quick, but elegant, card idea using the Always in my Heart Stamp Set (158183) and the Floral Hearts Dies (154306)

This card, was part of my February Card Class.  It uses the beautiful Shimmery White Cardstock (101910) that adds a special touch.

Blushing Bride Cardstock (131198) gives it a subtle pink touch of color, and the coordinating Blushing Bride Classic Ink (147100) for the greeting finishes off the look.

Add a little bling using the beautiful Opal Rounds (154289) and your done!
